Local cross country action returned to the hills of Greenanstown near Stamullen for the first day of the Meath 2013 cross country championships. The even age juveniles, novice and masters championships were decided over the testing Star of the Sea course which held up very well to the rigours of over 400 runners knocking out the mileage.
Thomas Moran,Dunshaughlin AC led the mens novice field home which had some of the best up and coming young runners in the county well to the fore. Loughlin Campion, Dunboyne and Rob Tully, Star of the Sea completed the medallists. The womens novice title went to Ciara Rooney, Navan AC ahead of the St Brigids duo of Elaine Plunkett and Eileen Rahill.In the mens U18 Andrew Coscoran from the host club took top spot with Brian McGrath, Bohermeen and Abdullah Abdulle,Dunboyne next past the post.
