Dunboyne in action at Nenagh

Three athletes from Dunboyne AC competed at the Leinster Indoor Juvenile Championships held in Nenagh on 18th and 19th February 2012.

Darragh Costigan won the Boys U16 60m Hurdles on Saturday and jumped 5.60m in the Long jump, a new PB and good enough for the bronze medal. Darragh returned on Sunday to win the High Jump with a new PB of 1.74m.

Josh Costigan was second in the Boys U12 High Jump, jumping 1.20m. He also took a bad fall in the heats of the 60m Hurdles.

Caolean O'Flaherty was very unlucky in the Boys U15 Long Jump, jumping 4.22m and finishing in 4th position. Caolean then competed in the heats of 60m where he finished 3rd, narrowly missing out on a place in the final.

Both Darragh and Josh have now qualified for the All Ireland Indoor Championships to be held in March.

As a reminder, last week at the Northern Ireland Indoor Championships, held in conjunction with the All Ireland Indoor Championships at the Odyssey Arena Belfast on the 11th and 12th February 2012, Darragh Costigan won the Boys U16 Long Jump competition with a jump of 5.43m and also won the silver medal in the High Jump, jumping 1.65m.
Keith Doherty cleared 3.80 in the senior men's POLE VAULT, which was good enough for 7th place for 19 year old Keith, this was his first competition in 2 years.
