Dunboyne AC AGM report

DUNBOYNE AC AGM, Wed 25/01/12
A year of great achievements
Members of Dunboyne AC met at the clubhouse on January 25th for the Annual General Meeting.
Looking back at the 2011 season highlights, the club can be proud of its achievements.

Committee officers thanked the re-elected chairman Sean Kinnane for his work and commitment.
The club has over 300 members, adults, juveniles and fit4life section, who meet around the track and participate in many races.
Dunboyne AC was largely represented in road races, cross country and athletics all year long with successful results. Thanks to the work done with our coach Garry O'Hanlon, the athletes have had the opportunity to benefit from his advice and improved their times.
Alongside our 400m track, a new Olympic hammer cage has been built to offer our athletes the best equipment to train and to host athletic competitions.
Our top athletes did well; 5 of them were competing at a national/international level with notable success.
Moreover, our club was very well represented in the local and county competitions, ours teams been many times on the podium.
The club did continue its key event of the year "Dunboyne 4 Miles road race", with a considerable increase of runners in 2011. To be noticed too, the "24 hour Torch Run" in the village, which took place despite heavy rain, and the BHAA road race hosted by the club.
Among our social events, Dunboyne AC organised a Family Fun Day with a popular pig race. Then, the Annual Dinner Dance ended the season under a festive note; many were present to celebrate the great night for the club.
