Latest updates from Dunboyne AC

Dunboyne AC would like to thanks all the participants to the Torch Run Festival. The 24 Hour Torch Relay Run all around the village of Dunboyne on Friday and Saturday has seen walkers & runners of every level to run a leg to support our Social Services and our club. Thanks to the organisers and to the local band 'room for improvment' who performed in Slevins All Ireland U20 Championships - Tullamore - 24th June 2012 Top form for James Mc Cabe, who won the 6K hammer with a new PB (68,62m). In 2nd place was UK athlete James Mc Gancey, while Dunboyne members Caimin Dunne (54,49m) and Michael Hanlon (52,62m) were 3rd and and 4th. Michael also competed in Discuss U20 and finished 3rd with a PB 41,42m. On the track, Luke Forde won the 2nd place in a time of 15:12', close to his best time on 5000m. In the Long Jump, Keith Doherty was just outside the medal (4th) with 6,23m. All Ireland U9/U10/U11 Championships - Cork IT - 23rd June 2012 Conor and Marc Leane competed in the boys U10 500m race in the All Ireland, ran very well and should be very proud of themselves to get to this level of competition. Well done boys. Meath Community Games - Cushinstown 23rd June 2012 Padraic Cagney won gold in the U14 80m hurdles. Darragh Costigan won silver in the U16 High jump. Caoilean O'Flaherty won Bronze in the U16 100m sprint. Conor Cagney won Bronze in the U12 Shot Putt. Padraic and Darragh will now go on to represent Meath in the national Community Games finals in Athlone on the last weekend in August. Tailteann Games - Santry 23rd June 2012 Darragh Costigan competed on the Leinster team in the Tailteann Games, an Interprovincial U17 schools competition held at Santry and finished 5th in the High Jump, jumping 1.75m. 20th June - IMRA (Irish Mountain Running) Sorrell Hill, Co Wicklow Karen O'Hanlon was the first woman home in a new course record of 49.38, 17second inside the old record. 20th June - Dublin Graded Meeting - Santry James McCabe continued his recent good form, throwing the 6k hammer 68.14m, a new PB and winning the competition. In second place was Michael Hanlon throwing the 5k hammer 61.01m, just 17cms short of his best. In the men's javelin competition, Denis Delaney threw 45.72m to come in second place. In the men's triple jump, Daniel Hanlon also came second, jumping 10.58m.
