Athletics Ireland Level 3 Coach Education Course 2011
Athletics Ireland is delighted to announce that our new Level 3 course is ready to be piloted in Autumn 2011. The Level 3 course builds on the experiences of Level 2 and works with the coach on the development of performance coaching, providing coaches with advanced level instruction in their chosen event group. As with Level 2, the Level 3 syllabus includes event specific elements, but more of the common core elements are now studied with a specific application to the event group context. The Level 2 course is designed to be an introduction to performance coaching for coaches, whilst the Level 3 course is targeted at those who are actively coaching high performance athletes, particularly the coaches working with the Youths & Juniors on the High Performance Panel. Coaches will specialise in one of the following event areas: Sprints and Hurdles; Middle and Long Distance Running; Race Walks; Jumps; Throws. Coaches can apply by sending a Coaching CV and Letter of application to Jacqui Freyne, Director of Coaching Development coaching@athleticsireland.ie
