For Irish Runner Editor Frank Greally, the Remembrance Run has special significance.
“I have had the idea for this event for a while and I feel that now is the right time to put it into action. I have found this a difficult year, with dear friends like Con Houlihan and my brother in-law Leo Fitzpatrick passing on and other close, lifelong friends struggling with illness and other life challenges.
“Many people will have had similar experiences; together we can celebrate the Gift of Life with family and friends in the Phoenix Park on Sunday November 11th at 11am. This will also be an opportunity to celebrate our own Gift of Days and to make a donation to a favourite charity through www.mycharity.ie.”
Remembrance Run will be a unique experience for theWalker, Jogger or Runner. The month of November is a time of remembrance for everyone at year’s end – an ideal time to remember family and friends passed and present and to celebrate our own gift of days and fullness of health. Participants in Remembrance Run will also be encouraged to adopt a favourite Charity to fundraise for. This is where www.mycharity.ie will provide a direct link to over 450 charities – local and national – that participants can choose from.
